Oliver Caplan was raised in the Bronx, New York. He studied Music and Geography at Dartmouth College, graduating with honors in 2004. While a student at Dartmouth -- amidst irreverent marching band antics and musical studies abroad in London -- he found his calling: musical composition. He studied composition with Charles Dodge, sang in the college Handel Society and served as President of the Marching Band. Mr.

Biography:

Jerre Tanner is an American composer of symphonic and operatic music. He studied orchestration with Pulitzer Prize winning composer Wayne Peterson at San Francisco State University where Tanner earned an advanced degree in composition.

Recent Works: 

2011 - present: Symphony No. 4 in C "Song of Creation" (in progress)

Artist Statement: 

Music has the ability to go straight to our heart, to speak directly to our soul in ways we understand emotionally but may never be able to express in words.Since early childhood, music has been a major part of my life. After 50 years composing, I still feel it is a great privilege, and I am truly blessed to be able to utilize my talents in the service of music.
