Artist Statement:
Moran's opera "NIGHT PASSAGE" had a new set of performances via the famous Turtle Creek Chorale, Dallas, in March 2008
"Music from the Towers of the Moon" in a new string orchestra version was premiered in April 2008, State University of New York, Fredonia, conducted by Maestro David Rudge
The world premiere of Moran's "STIRLING: IT'S RAINING CATS AND DOGS' was given its world premiere in April 2008 at the University of Iowa, conducted by Dan Moore. The score calls for gigantic percussion forces including 8 marimbas, 4 vibraphones, etc.. This live recording is included on Moran's new INNOVA CD; http://innova.mu/artist1.asp?skuID=341
INTROSPECTION, the new dance work of choreographer Fernando Hernando Magadan, was premiered in Jan. 2008 via Netherlands Dance Theater; Moran's SEVEN SOUNDS UNSEEN choral work was the musical inspiration for this new work.
