Introduction:
Composer, arranger, conductor, jazz keyboardist and publisher (CREATION STATION)
Biography:
William D. Pardus is Professor Emeritus of Music and former chairman of the Music Department at Keene State College (University System of New Hampshire), where he taught Arranging, American Music, Jazz History and was Director of the KSC Electronic Music Studio as well as Director of the KSC Jazz Ensemble. He holds degrees from The University of Connecticut and has also studied at The Hartford Conservatory of Music, Hartt College (University of Hartford) and Wesleyan University. Prior to coming to Keene State College, he was Director of Instrumental Music at East Hartford High School, an adjunct faculty member at Eastern Connecticut State University and Principal Bassoonist/Assistant Conductor of the Manchester, CT Civic Orchestra.
As a Fulbright Scholar, he taught at Norwich College of Education (England) in the 1960?s and, during his sabbatical leave in the fall of 1994, was Visiting Professor in Residence at The University of Keele, also in the United Kingdom. During the past ten years, in addition to performing as a jazz keyboardist, he has been involved with Music Technology, presenting workshops and seminars at State, Regional and National Conferences of Music Educators and at other colleges and universities. Along with his 32 published compositions for brass and woodwind chamber groups and band, he has also composed numerous electronic scores for presentation by the KSC Dance Department. He was selected by The New Hampshire Music Teachers? Association as "The 2001 and 2004 NHMTA Commissioned Composer" and in 2002, was elected to the New Hampshire Music Educators Association "Hall of Fame".

I write music for "both sides of the street" - concert music and jazz.
