Biography:

Mario Godoy (b.1988 Riverside, CA) is a composer and saxophonist. He received his Bachelor of Music Degree in Saxophone Performance from the University of Redlands where he studied saxophone with Dr. Eddie Smith and composition with Dr. Anthony Suter. He currently attends the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where he is pursuing a Master of Music Degree in Composition studying with David Garner.
Godoy is a composer of acoustic and electro/acoustic music having written pieces for solo instruments, various chamber groups, wind ensemble as well as works for instruments with electronics. He has received commissions from various professional performers, including pianist Eldred Marshall, who commissioned “Nightfall... Fantasia for Solo Piano” and performed it on tour throughout California.
Godoy is also an avid music educator teaching private lessons and saxophone clinics to various high schools and middle schools throughout California.
Mario Godoy is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), and received several ASCAPlus awards for significant performances outside of normally licensed venues. He is also a loyal member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Music Fraternity of America.
