Composers Datebook
Program Description:
Composers Datebook is a concise, nationally-distributed daily radio program designed to inform and engage listeners with information about composers of the past and present. This series?celebrates the work of contemporary composers by integrating their work into the continuum of classical music history. The program combines historical and contemporary anecdotes about composers with excerpts of their music.
Composers Datebook also promotes the work of prominent performing artists and organizations, including symphony orchestras, opera companies, chamber ensembles, conductors and solo performers. The show has been honored with an ASCAP-Deems Taylor Award for Broadcasting.
Initiated as an independent Forum production in 1999, Composers Datebook since 2001 has been a co-production with Minnesota Public Radio (MPR). Composers Datebook is a registered trademark of MPR.
