Miranda in Concert
September 26 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm CDT
Pine Plains, NY: The Stissing Center is proud to present the fourth entry in their series, LIVE! from The Stissing Center!: a streamed, pre-recorded concert on Saturday, September, 26 at 4:30 pm. Violinist Miranda Cuckson will be accompanied on piano by Ryan MacEvoy McCullough.
Miranda Cuckson will offer an array of repertoire spanning from 1923 to 2000. The program includes “L’Aurore”, solo violin sonata by Belgian violinist and composer Eugène Ysaÿe, and two movements from “Four Lauds for Solo Violin” by the iconic American composer Elliot Carter, one dedicated to composer Aaron Copland and one to Miranda’s mentor, renowned violinist and founding member of the Juilliard Quartet Robert Mann on the occasion of his 80th birthday. She will then be joined by pianist Ryan MacEvoy McCullough in “Fiddle-Doodle-Ad” by Ross Lee Finney – a masterpiece filled with American folk tunes written at the end of World War 2.
Combining that talent with the photographic eye of director J Henry Fair and Ryan McCullough’s sound engineering is a recipe for success. This one is not to be missed.”
The mission of the series has been keeping classical music alive during this very difficult time. Previously, we engaged Israeli/American pianist, faculty member of Bard Conservatory Benjamin Hochman, Soprano Lucy Fitz Gibbon and pianist Ryan McCullough, Ensemble Connect fellow alum violinist Mari Lee, CMS residential cellist Mihai Marica, etc to come record a concert program in the beautiful post-industrial concert hall. We partnered with photographer J Henry Fair, who has been working with classical musicians since 1990s and produced 3 beautiful concert videos so far.
