Eligibility: Composers ages 18+ of any nationality may apply. Letters of invitation are available if needed for visa applications.

How many participants can attend?: 16

Instructional Fee: $825

Housing: dorm and homestay options (Prices are $150 for a two-week homestay and ca. $35/night if staying in a dorm. Participants are responsible for their own food.)

What is the design?: 6 private lessons; 4 faculty ‘cycles’ (presentation/prompt/masterclass)

In addition: Presentations by guest composers and participants, extra ‘Nuts and Bolts’ sessions, and plenty of individual work time. There are no public performances as part of the program.

Where is the Intensive? It is hosted by the Music Department at Saint Mary’s College in the Moreau Center for the Arts, with meetings in the modern, air-conditioned Music Lab, Music Seminar Room, and faculty offices. Saint Mary’s College is located in South Bend, Indiana, just off Exit 77 on the I80/90 toll road, and easily accessible by car, Amtrak, Chicago South Shore train, and air.  By car, it is 1.5 hrs. from Chicago and Kalamazoo, 2.5 hours from Indianapolis, and 3 from Ann Arbor.
