Call for Laptop Ensemble Scores – JoULE
The Johnson University Laptop Ensemble (JoULE) is excited to announce a call for scores. The ensemble will be preparing for its first concert in Spring of 2023 and is looking to feature pre-existing electronic works and potentially commission a new work. Pieces submitted will be considered for performance in the Spring of 2023, with all high scoring works kept in consideration for future performances. Multiple submissions accepted, $0 entry fee.

Eligibility: creatives of any race, ethnicity, age, gender, or disability may apply for the opportunity. JoULE retains no aesthetic or stylistic restrictions and is open to exploring new, divergent, and underrepresented approaches to Laptop Ensemble performance. Submissions may include beat making, sampling, genre fusions such as EDM or Jazz, electroacoustic sound design, audiovisual components, live coding, Xbox/Dualshock interfacing, and more.
Submission: all submissions must be for Laptop Ensemble with the smallest allowance of performers being a duo. Submissions must be accompanied with performance notes and a tech rider for the required gear. JoULE utilizes a variety of performance controllers and software such as Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Max MSP, and Supercollider, but is open to learning other performance hardware/software. Submissions may also include drum set (1), electric bass (1), keyboard (1), vocals (1), trumpet (1), and EWI (1). Send submissions to the following Google Form:
