Composers Competition
for Mixed Choir and Saxophone Quartet by Audi Sommerkonzerte in cooperation with Arcis Saxophon Quartett and LauschWerk
Please read carefully
- The length of submitted compositions should be between 6 and 8 minutes.
- Only one work per composer can be submitted.
- Entries must be either an original work or an arrangement/readaptation of the composer’s own work. Works may be previously performed.
- Compositions must be for SATB choir (choir consists of 24 singers, maximum subdivisions: 12) and saxophone quartet SATBar.
- Live electronics or other instruments are not permissible.
- Thematic Approach The composition must be related to themes present in one or more pictures, which you can find here. Read more in the FAQ.
- Deadline Entries for the Composition Competition must be received no later than December 21st, 2024, at 09:00 CET.
- Submissions Please send your composition as a full (transposed) score in PDF format to audi-art-experience@audi.de. Choir-only scores and transposed parts for the saxophone quartet are optional and will be requested from the winning participants. Only digital scores can be submitted. Submitting a MIDI recording of your piece is helpful. Please note that digital scores and parts should not contain the composer’s name, as the scores will be judged anonymously by the jury. The jury will select three compositions as winners. All three compositions will be performed by Ensemble LauschWerk and the Arcis Saxophon Quartett at the Audi Sommerkonzerte Ingolstadt 2025 and will receive further performances.
The first prize will be awarded 5000 EUR. The second prize will be awarded 3000 EUR. The third prize will consist of a performance.
Selected composers are not required to travel.
