New Music DC 2021 Call for Participation

District New Music Coalition is pleased to announce our call for participation for our fourth annual conference, New Music DC 2021, which will take place at George Washington University on October 2-3, 2021. More information on how the conference will be implemented in a physical space will be announced as it becomes available, and we are working hard with GWU to successfully organize an in-person or hybrid conference. However, given the uncertain nature of the pandemic, the conference may switch to a virtual platform at a later date.

Also, this year we are doing things a little differently, as this is the one and only call for ALL participation, and we want to emphasize that you may submit ANYTHING to potentially be programmed as part of the conference, whether that be a composition and/or a performance to be included as part of our periodic new music concerts, a workshop, a conversation, a panel, a presentation, an installation, a flash mob, or any other idea that may be successfully produced in the given space.

This call is open to any composer, performer, or musician currently residing in and around the DC-metro area, and the submission deadline is May 14th, 2021.
