Call for Submissions: inner sOUndscapes|Trombone Fall 2024

inner sOUndscapes is a concert series dedicated to electroacoustic music, organized by the computer music studio of the University of Oklahoma, School of Music. For its Fall 2024 edition, inner sOUndscapes is teaming with the trombone studio of Mr. Will Lang to produce a concert featuring recent works for trombone and electronics. We accept anonymous submissions for solo works for any member of the trombone family (alto, tenor, bass), accompanied by live electronics, fixed media, or video. We are also open to trombone duos, trios, up to quartets with electronics. New works that have not been premiered are particularly welcomed! The selected works will be performed by undergraduate and graduate students during the inner sOUndscapes concert at the University of Oklahoma, School of Music on mid-November 2024. Accepted composers are not required to travel to Oklahoma to attend their performance, but are welcome to attend. Funds are not currently available to support travel.

Submission rules:
1. Composers of any age and nationality are invited to submit any number of works.
2. The submission materials (pdf score and mp3 audio file) must be anonymous.
3. The duration of the submitted works should not exceed 10 minutes.
4. Submission deadline: August 15th 2024.

Submission guidelines:
1. Create a folder with the following materials:
a. A PDF file containing the composer’s bio (up to 100 words), program notes (up to 100 words), contact info.
b. An anonymous score of the work (PDF), complete with technical requirements.
c. A stereo MP3 file of the work containing both clarinet and electronic parts. Multi-channel works (up to 4.1) will be considered but submit a stereo reduction for adjudication purposes.
2. Compress the folder in zip format.
3. Name the compressed file with the composer’s last name and title of the piece.
4. Upload the compressed file to a file sharing website (i.e. OneDrive, Hightail, Dropbox, GoogleDrive etc.) and send the link to

The composers of the selected works will be notified in early September by email and will be asked to submit performance materials (patches, uncompressed audio files, click tracks, diffusion schemes, etc).
