The Collegiate Choral Composition Community and The Pasadena Chorale invite composers to submit to this year’s Listening to the Future project. This is an exciting opportunity for all collegiate composers to be able to receive a performance and recording by the award-winning Pasadena Chorale. Selected composers will be invited to attend the performance of their works on June 20th, 2026 in Pasadena. The weekend will also include masterclasses with LA-based choral composers and an opportunity to work directly with the choir.

Recording Rights
If my composition is chosen for inclusion in the Pasadena Chorale’s 2026 Listening to the Future concert I agree to the following:
- I hereby grant to the Pasadena Chorale the right to use my identifiable visual likeness and voice in photographs and video recordings of Chorale rehearsals, any and all work sessions of Listening to the Future, and any performances during the 2025-26 season.
- I retain all rights, including Federal copyrights, to any of my works included Listening to the Future (“My Chorale Works”), except as follows:
- I hereby grant the Chorale any necessary rights and licenses under Federal copyright law to make and distribute any audio and/or video recordings of Chorale rehearsals and performances during the 2025-26 season, including any video or audio recordings of rehearsals and performances of My Chorale Works. This includes the rights to sell any video or audio recording by the Chorale of My Chorale Works.
- I hereby grant the Chorale a license to perform or record any of My Chorale Works for a period of one (1) year from the date of this Agreement. This includes the rights to sell any video or audio recording by the Chorale of My Chorale Works.
- I will be identified as the composer in any program or other material accompanying any live performance or recording by the Chorale of My Chorale Works. And I will be entitled to collect composers’ royalties from all performances and sales of my music.
