Call for scores!

The Mid Coast Young Composer Competition is open to young composers of instrumental music 25 years and under from the Mid Coast local government area – Manning/Great Lakes/Gloucester.

The theme for the competition is “The Colours of Winter”.

Compositions can be for concert band, wind ensemble, string quartet, woodwind and brass combinations.

Judges will be maestro George Ellis, Scott Ryan (Hunter Wind Ensemble/Sydney Conservatorium) and Andrew Chubb (composer/conductor/performer/educator).

Entered works are to be between three and five minutes long and can be for between three to 35 grade level.

Entries are due by Friday, June 12.

The winner’s work will be performed at the Manning Winter Festival gala concert on Sunday, July 19.
