Eligibility: participants must be at least 18 years old, and may be of any nationality

Housing: dorm (about $30/night) and homestay ($125 for two weeks) options (participants are responsible for their own food)

What is the design?: 5 faculty presentations, each leading to a compositional prompt to be worked on over several days, then a masterclass on the resulting sketches
In addition: 6 private lessons, presentations by participants, optional evening improvisation sessions, plenty of individual work and social time
When to apply: Feb. 1 through April 1 for priority admission, then open until positions filled, international students should apply early if time is needed for visas

Where is the Intensive? It is hosted by the Music Department at Saint Mary’s College in the Moreau Center for the Arts, with meetings in the modern, air-conditioned Music Lab, Music Seminar Room, and faculty offices. Saint Mary’s College is located in South Bend, Indiana, just off Exit 77 on the I80/90 toll road, and easily accessible by car, Amtrak, Chicago South Shore train, and air. By car, it is 1.5 hrs. from Chicago and Kalamazoo, 2.5 hours from Indianapolis, and 3 from Ann Arbor.
