Jupiter Quartet performs Michi Wiancko, George Walker, and Mendelssohn presented by the Middlebury Performing Arts Series

The Jupiter String Quartet is presented for the ninth time by the Middlebury Performing Arts Series. This year’s online performance was recorded at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, where the ensemble has been artists-in-residence since 2012. This free performance concludes the Jupiter’s online residency at Middlebury College and will be available online at go.middlebury.edu/digitalstages.
For this performance, the quartet will play Michi Wiancko’s To Unpathed Waters, Uncharted Shores, a recent commission for them by Bay Chamber Concerts with the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, alongside George Walker’s “Lyric” from his String Quartet No. 1 and Mendelssohn’s Quartet in E-flat Major, Op. 12.
