On Tuesday, April 27 at 8:30pm CT | 7:30pm MT, the CMU Wind Symphony will present its final concert of the season in the Moss Performing Arts Center Robinson Theatre. It will also be the last time director Calvin Hofer will lead the ensemble. He is retiring from his position as Director of Bands for the music department. A free retirement reception will take place before the concert at 6pm in the academic quad area outside of Moss to celebrate his tenure at CMU.

Pieces to be performed will be some of Hofer’s favorites over the years: “Forefathers” by Jack Stamp, “Symphony for Brass and Percussion” by Alfred Reed, “BREATHE” by Alex Shapiro (a BQ composer), “La Fiesta Mexicana” by H. Owen Reed, and “Havana Nights” by Randall Standridge.

Tickets for the concert are available at coloradomesa.edu/tickets.
