Minnesota Edvard Munch House Residency

American Composers Forum is partnering with Springboard for the Arts, the Highpoint Center for Printmaking, the Center for German and European Studies at the University of Minnesota, and the Edvard Munch House to invite Minnesota-based composers, visual artists, writers, and artists working across the disciplines to apply for an Artist Residency at the Edvard Munch House in Warnemünde, Germany. 

The Residency supports 4 to 6 weeks of accommodation in the Edvard Munch House between the months of October and April 2027 and provides a workspace as well as:

• A stipend of €3,000 (for a 4 week residency) or €4,000 (for a 6 week residency)
• Round-trip travel costs from Minnesota to Germany
• Opportunities to connect and collaborate with local artists
• A public presentation, reading, performance, or exhibition 
• Composers may collaborate with a local music Academy or local musicians
• Printmakers will have access to a printing press at a nearby art school

Applications for artists of all mediums open on Oct. 9, 2026 and close on Nov. 30, 2026. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and be based in the state of Minnesota. The successful applicant must have a valid passport by October 2027 in order to travel to Germany.
