Town Hall: Anatomy of a Commission – Jan 18 02:30PM–04:00PM EST
ACF’s new digital resource, Anatomy of a Commission, seeks to provide transparency about the commissioning process and encourage positive, equitable experiences among composers and collaborators. At this interactive event, hosted by ACF, contributors share insight and invite questions as well as feedback to inform the next iteration of the project: chamber music and small ensemble commissions. Panelists include music lawyer Ari Solotoff, BMI’s Deirdre Chadwick, and ACF staff/composer Carolina Heredia.
Then, hear from practitioners themselves who are applying these strategies: composer Ivette Herryman Rodriguez and her collaborator Lindsay Kesselman from the Haven Trio, plus presenter Jenny Bilfield (Washington Performing Arts) and composer Huang Ruo.
Composers’ Summit – Jan 18 04:30PM–05:30PM EST
This affinity-group meeting, facilitated by ACF staff, provides community space for self-identified composers and music creators to share experiences, questions, and ideas with fellow practitioners in the field.
