The Sound of the 14th Amendment

“The Sound of the 14th Amendment” is a revisit to the post-Reconstruction-era in four classical compositions performed by ACF Executive Director Loki Karuna (bassoon) and Yoon Chung (piano). The program considers the sound of the 14th Amendment from the perspective of incarcerated, immigrant, enslaved, and Indigenous peoples. This event is a collaboration between the Ruth J. Simmons Center for the Study of Slavery & Justice at Brown University and ACF’s Recomposing America initiative.

This performance is part of the Simmons Center’s Black and Indigenous Histories Summer Institute programming and is free and open to the public. Registration required.
