Piece Requirements:

The Trans-Pacific Trio is issuing a call for scores for their 2024-2025 season! Instrumentation may include:
1. Clarinet
2. Bassoon or Mezzo-Soprano (works for Soprano with limited tessitura above the staff will also be considered)
3. Piano
4. Audio track (no live electronics, please)

Preference will be given to works including all three live ensemble members, but scores for any combination will be considered. Single-movement works should not exceed 20 minutes in duration. If a multi-movement work exceeds 20 minutes, we will consider performing selected movements that total up to 20 minutes of music. Pieces may have been previously performed, recorded, and/or awarded.

There are no restrictions on age or nationality of applicants. The application is in English and applicants are strongly encouraged to apply in English if possible, but applications received in other languages may be accepted on a case by case basis.

Benefits to Composers of Selected Works:

The Trans-Pacific Trio will purchase scores of works selected for performance and notify composers of the location and timing of the performance of their work. No stipend will be available to defray travel expenses, but there will be no cost to attend the performance. The trio will arrange one coaching session with the composer either live, via video chat, or as a demo recording about which the composer may offer feedback. Every composer will receive a recording of their piece from the live performance.

Performances will take place primarily (possibly exclusively) in the Detroit area. Selected applicants are not required to travel to attend the performances.
