American Composers Forum has partnered with the Duluth Art Institute for Recomposing America, a multi-year initiative that highlights artistic perspectives unique to the United States and the broader Americas through direct commissions, institutional collaborations, and public dialogue. At the Duluth Art Institute’s “Art Night Out” event, audiences can hear a live performance of the ACF-commissioned EP Gradient by the Minneapolis-based rapper Tufawon and experience the exhibits that the EP was created to accompany.

“Fur Trade Nation” brings the Ojibwe people and the fur trade era to life through the evocative art of Carl Gawboy. And in “Ojibwe Adornment” by Wendy Savage, handcrafted beadwork and quillwork honor storytelling traditions and celebrate cultural heritage. Enjoy an evening where past and present meet — through art, conversation, and creativity. Savor light refreshments inspired by traditional Ojibwe foods, take guided gallery tours, and meet the artists behind the work.

Previous Film Screening: "Opus Cope" by Jae Shim
Next World Premiere: "Sanctuary" by Kavyesh Kaviraj
