BandQuest composer Jodie Blackshaw recently wrote about composing with music concepts during rehearsal using her piece Letter from Sado. As Jodie puts it, “Letter from Sado was commissioned as part of the BandQuest series in 2014. Since then it has received hundreds of unique performance around the world – but many Directors are still frightened to try it. Don’t be! There are many creative opportunities in this Grade 3 work that will enable many wondrous teaching opportunities along the way.” Read the full blog post here, and listen to a fantastic recent performance of Letter from Sado by the LCRMEA Wind Ensemble conducted by Rob Taylor below.
